longest running LGBTQ support institution in Lincoln. The keynote speaker was

Communication Association Samuel L. Becker Distinguished Service Award, which
recognizes a lifetime of outstanding service to the Association and to the
profession. The Award is presented to the person judged to have made the
greatest contribution to the association and to the profession during her or
his career in research, teaching, or service. In mo<span class="textexposedshow">st
cases, the individual selected will have made outstanding contributions in all
three areas. Braithwaite was the President of the National Communication
Association in 2010 and the Western States Communication Association in 2009.</span><o:p></o:p></span></div>

The association-wide Miller Dissertation Award was endowed in 1971 and honors top dissertations across the Communication discipline. Dr. Moore is the first UNL graduate to win this award (and we know more awards are in our future). The faculty in Communication Studies. her committee, and Dr. Moore’s Advisor, Dr. Dawn O. Braithwaite, are extremely proud of Julia and her work. Donelle Moormeier, is the relay coordinator for the Tractor Relay Across
Nebraska (TRAN). Riders on antique tractors drive across the length of the
state for ten days in June. This year, 25 tractors traveled across the state,
visiting many communities and highlighting agriculture. In celebration of
Nebraska’s 150th anniversary of statehood, Donelle organized a tractor
drive around the Nebraska State Capitol on June 10. 152 antique tractors were
driven around the capitol. Congrats to Donelle and the Nebraska Antique Farming
Association.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
